March 31, 2014

Hello!

How was the kiddos spring break? Give me some stories! :) Oh Mamma and Callie--- I thought of you so much at the Women's Broadcast!  I can imagine you two going together, getting Dairy Queen after and having the best time ever! I thought of Mccall having to stand up and sing "Teach Me to Walk in the Light" and I bawled like a baby! haha That will be so fun when we can all go together one day! Oh and Mom ...I "looked up at you and smiled"...just like they said to ---so no worries! :)

My week was FANTASTIC!!!  We had so many miracles! :) Carlos didnt get baptized but, it is okay because I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES! He will get his answer...he just have to keep working! Janice is really progressing...she started fasting about her baptismal date and we haven't even taught her what fasting is!!! So that was cool! We started teaching her 11 year old son too...so we are so happy about that! Dirk is gone...he will be gone for a while...May 12...which is inbetween the two most wonderful people's birthday in the world! Grandma Crouch and Mommy Lou! So that will be a great weekend! We sent him a Book of Mormon so hopefully he will be a scholar when he gets out! :)

Some miracles for the week.... :)
Sister Warner has not been feeling too well this week so I got lots of studying time in! Woo! :) But the day she started feeling better was the day I WAS READY TO GO TO WORK! :) We went and knocked on some doors and boy did we find some wonderful people!
After church we said a prayer and felt like we should stay in Carmel. So we went and tried a few potentials. We got to the door and they were not there so we decided to knock on the doors around that area...and THE NEXT door we knocked on was incredible! We knock and a family opens the door...we introduce ourselves and then the most "unfamiliar" words came out of the mothers mouth and that was "You can come in...do you have half and hour?" As she said this I was smiling and just continued to smile...after I realized what she said...I asked her to repeat herself! haha I felt so dumb after but it was so "not normal" haha so on we went...we went inside and talked to them a Readers Digest version of  the Restoration. We got a return appointment and they are coming to church after general conference! They are from Pakastian and the sweetest people! They just moved here about 2 years ago and they said they were looking for a church to go to! It was so awesome! I live for moments like that on the mishy! :)

I could go on and on about the miracles I continue to see on a daily basis...but we will save those for another time! Something I learned this week/strengthen was my testimony on the Atonement. I studied humility in my personal studies and I want to tell you something...I have been humbled! haha The cool thing about a mission though is I will probably say that next week too! You are constantly being reminded that what good is coming from this...is not you!  But I love that! I know that through the atonement...in spite all of my weaknesses and imperfections, my weakness can be made into strengths because of Jesus Christ. I am so thankful for that knowledge. It brings me such comfort! I love life and I am so happy! I sometimes wish so bad I could just call you and tell you about the amazing experiences I am having...but.. it keeps  it special this way I guess!

I love you all! Alex, Grandma, and Sadie...I hope you have the best birthday ever!!!!! I will be thinking of you all! You will be getting some major "Happy Birthday prayers!" :)

Keep smiling and spreading the good word around! Adventure is out there! Go get it! :)
Love,

Sister Clegg the 3rd! :) :)

Dirk and Sister Warner and Me!

Our District
Hola!
How is everyone? I cannot wait to read your emails and see how everyone is doing! You are all just the best and I love you all!

My week was FANTASTIC! Best week ever! (I know I say that every week...but take my word for it, it just keeps getting better and better!) We were able to work really hard this week and I can tell you that this last week was the most rewarding week I have had thus far!! We saw miracle after miracle and I am truly thankful! We have been running in the mornings on the Monon trail! For 30 whole minutes!!! I love it! Sister Warner has been such a good sport and been running every morning! It has been my saving grace! I run up a little ways and then circle back for my dear companion! It has been awesome! You should look up the Monon trail, when you get a sec... I think it is a really long trail but I am not positive???

All the people we are working with are doing so good! We were able to find a new investigator named Jenifer and she is awesome! She is 1 of 2 people who still have a farm in Carmel and it was so fun to see a cow! (I know I sound pathetic...but, I haven’t seen a cow in a while!) :) Jennifer let me hold her goat too! So, I will send you a pic of that one! :) Dirk is doing so good! He will probably be gone on Wednesday to that "special place" but, he said he wants to be baptized and wants to HOLD THE PRIESTHOOD! So, he said the moment he comes back he wants to do that! I hope I am still here when he gets back! He is so awesome! So pray he will be able to come back soon! (oh by the way I called him this week and he answered the phone saying "Hello this is Brother Warner" (that is his last name) and I got so excited! It was awesome to hear him say that!!!!) Ya...its the little things in life! :) Carlos!....I believe in MIRACLES! Pray for him please! This Saturday is his date and he said he would get baptized if he got his answer so please oh please pray I am simply just handing this one to The Lord 100% because I don't know what else to do with him? Linda called us back!!!!!!! So she is back on the drawing board! YAY! and Jancie came to church with her 5 kids!! Who are adorable! one of the kids name is dream and he is 4 and has earrings and I am obsessed with him! He is my buddy! :) I will shoot a pic next week!

Everything is going great! I love being a missionary! I love personal study every morning and I love bearing my testimony everyday and talking to everyone! I studied alot about love this week and I want to bear my testimony that love is how you become a good missionary...whether you are on a mission right now or not, love it the key! It isn’t the 1st commandment for no reason! When you love your Heavenly Father...that’s when you change and serve his children with all your heart. I love this gospel and I am truly grateful for the blessings I receive everyday because of it!

 I LOVE YOU!
I pray for each and every one of you during the day and the night (hahaha) and think the world of you! Keep smiling because life it good! :)

 Love Sista Clegg

P.S...You know you have the coolest Mission President when you have a March Madness Tournament! At 2 today...we are going to the Stake Center and President is going to show us some moves, teach us some "fundamentals" and make us run a few ladders! Haha- I LOVE HIM! Watch out Al...I’m coming for ya on the court! :)

Lunch time on the back of our car!
Hola!!
How is the world these days? I peeked at a few emails before I wrote this and I can not believe Brenny jumped into the Lake! I am so JEALOUS! haha --That looks like one big cup of hot chocolate waiting to happen but, super fun! Brenny you are crazy! I love it! Al did you do it too...or were you scared? :) JK I love you! Glad Amster had a good B-day..I'm proud of you Austy, you done good kid! :) I love you all and you are the best!  Mom...partying it up in LV!
This week was so GOOD! Holy! Every week I think couldn't get better and then the next week DOES! I had my first exchange this week with the sister training leaders! I got to go with Sister Barrett from Logan Utah! :) She was fantastic! It was fun to go with her and see that there were "other ways" of doing missionary work...when you are getting trained you have "blinders" on and you don't really know any better...so  it was really good for me to be on an exchange! We had some really cool experiences that day. We found the coolest investigator ever! He so sweet! He is black and has the cutest kids! But, it was super cool ! We were on our way to an appointment and she ended up not being home, so as we were walking outside we saw him and started talking to him and it was such a nice day that we gave him the rest of the lesson right on his front porch! He said to come back and that he would read the Book of Mormon! (to bad he isn't in MY AREA!) haha but, as long as he goes swimming (baptized) I dont really care what area he is in! :) But, overall exchanges were great!

FUNNY STORY- So, while we were on exchanges...that night Sister Warner and I were sleeping out in the living room on these paper thin beds...yes it was my best night sleep so far. (NOT) haha ( its okay I didn't mind it...could have been a lot worse!) but...anywho....we woke up the next morning and Sister Warner starts laughing so hard at me and I was so afraid! She said that in the middle of the night she woke up from me talking and she looked over and I was kneeling (s?) down saying a prayer outloud about all of our investigators! hahah She said it was a good prayer and that I prayed for like 10 mintues just going though all the people we talk to!!! hahah Oh my...HELP I HAVE GONE INSANE! :) Sister Warner told our district at district meeting and...lets just say I have gotten teased about that one! :)

I have had a wonderful week! I am learning so much and I have seen so many blessings. Heavenly Father is doing some serious work right now, and I am incredibly thankful for it everyday! I will update you on the investigators.... :)

Dirk- oh Dirk! I love that man! His court day got MOVED! YAY! :) Well.. I think yay? So we met with him a bunch this week. We are meeting with him and President Cleveland tomorrow to see what we can do..he is baptismal date it technically this Saturday but, he won't make it because he is still smoking (minor detail) but, he is getting so close! He knows the BOM is true and is progressing like crazy! He stopped drinking coffee and tea, so we are getting somewhere! I gave him my pony tail to wear on his wrist so he can think of our talks before he starts smoking... (we will see how well it works!) But.. as far as legal issues and baptism I will be able to tell you better next week after meeting with President! So, Dirk is awesome! He still calls us his angels and I LOVE THAT MAN!

Carlos- Carlos...PRAY FOR HIM! He has two weeks til his date and I have 100% faith that he is going to get it! We met with him last night and gave him a "final stretch" pump up talk! We told him that he has two weeks to give it all he has and we promised him that if he does that he will recieve his answer! So...please pray he will! I love him and he such a  good guy! He has been asking for a very long time and I think its time he gets his answer!

Linda- oh Break my heart Linda! She dropped us. My heart broke for her and ME! haha I want to call her everyday and Sister Warner keeps telling me she needs time and I cant stand it! She was doing so good and then she got a glimse of the truth and got scared! So...you know..pray that she will one day answer my phone call or at least want to talk to us!
Rita and her family- We didnt get to meet with them last week because there dad is in the hospital..so we are meeting with her this week so hopefully we can see where we are at there?
Jim- GREATEST, Sweetest old man you will ever meet! Love him! He is so close to knowing the BOM is true, when we see him every week he asked questions Joseph Smith asked! He is so great! But, his wife hust passed away so he doesnt like leaving the house so that is an issue right now! but, we will try again!
Sorry if that was to many people and stuff...but I get so excited! :) This was a wonderful week! I love this church so much! There isnt a moment I dont smile because of it! I am thankful for my Savior, his sacrafice he preformed for me and all of his children has never brought such peace and happiness in my entire life. I can overcome because he did and I am so thankful for that. I love the Book of Mormon, President has challenged all of us to study for 30 minutes out of our hour personal study to read the BOM and my testimony of that Book has increased tremendously!
I love you and pray for you! Thank you for your examples and kindness! It means the world to me! :) Love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

March 10, 2014

Greetings my fellow friends and family!

How are you? Wow, is it just me or is time flying by!? I feel like I was just at this computer and typing like a mad man..(woman)  :) But, I will not complain about being able to talk to my FAMILY!! :)

This week was a great week! Definately an emotional roller coaster.. PMG says "become emotionally attached to to the work" and let me tell you I HAVE! I love this people so much and I can see how much this gospel blesses everyone and gosh dang it, I want that for everyone in INDIANA! :) We had some really cool experiences this week....

Classic Mikesell (sister clegg) thing to do.... haha We were out trying to find potentials one afternoon and we knock on the door and Sister Warner tells me "It's all you!" so I am talking to the lady and in my head I am thinking "This woman is amazing...she is so prepared...oh my word!!" and as I get talking more to her she explains she is the primary teacher and all that stuff and that her name was Sister Kluffs... AWK...I hurry and looked at Sister Warner and said..."Why didn't you stop me???!!" haha So, that was kind of funny! We laughed pretty hard about that later on.... :)

1. Later on that day we were knocking on doors and we found THREE NEW INVESTIGATORS! So we were way pumped about that...I got in the car and looked at sister Warner and then screamed as loud as a missionary should scream because I was so excited!! Those are the moments you live for as a missionary! :) We have appiontments with them this week so we will see!

2. We taught Dirk the Word of Wisdom this week and we were at a members home and asked Brother Hammock (member...and a midget...I LOVE HIM!!) if he could give Dirk a priesthood blessing to help him, and so he did and it was so touching. Dirk was crying and oh my word...it was incredible! A few days later we met with Dirk again and he said he had a dream that something was trying to get him but, brother Hammocks hands was stopping it! Oh my word.. I start getting teary eyed every time I think about it! It was incredible!

3. Linda - gave us a call Sunday morning and gave us a "drop" message, saying she was thankful for everything we did but, didnt want to mess up the family... so we hury and called her back and told her to pray about it and we would call her today...so we are anxious to see what happens there. Pray! She knows its true... she said I feel good when she reads the Book of Mormom and when we come over...Satan is just to good at his job sometimes! So, hope for the best with her!

Dirks Status (snow shoveling man) - (we just found this out this week) Dirk has court this week and may have to go spend sometime in a little place some people call "jail" so that was a hard pill to swallow...We are meeting with him tonight but, before we set up an appiontment he said I don't know how long I will be in Jail... but I want to let you know I will never forget Sister Clegg and Sister Warner! oh....it about broke my heart...pray that his judge is a nice lady and he doesn't have to go...and that he can go swimming soon! :)  He knows its true. Yesterday in Sacrament meeting he was praying during the sacrament! It was the greatest thing I have ever seen! :)

Carlos- he is doing good! He is a very slow mover but, he is moving... we are going to pray out hearts out he makes the baptismal date but, he is a thinker and isn't going to do anything he isn't 100% sure on.... so I have faith he will get is answer!

We are teaching the Magill family and they are so sweet! Rita and Quiton, Josh, Jonna, and Josy. :) This week will be a big week for them ...we are extending the B word to them...BAPTISM! :) I am excited!

Over this week was the best ever! I learned and grew in ways that I cant really even decsribe..we had another training this week with president and guess who got called to role play TWICE? yay....me! haha I am starting to believe that I have a target on my head! :) But, it was good for me and I learned things I wouldnt have watching those lovely role plays...haha I love this gospel, it blesses my life more and more every second I strive to live it. I love working as hard as I can, I love sister warner and the example she is to me. She is an excellent teacher and I thank my lucky stars everyday I get to learn from her!

I love you all....sorry if this was a long one.. I got excited! :) You are always in my prayers and thoughts!

Happy Birthday to MISS (soon to be MRS) AMY!!! I love you and will be thinking of you! Make sure Austy does something super nice for ya okay! ;)

March 3, 2014

Hello again!

I feel like I just got to write to you! Time is flyin! Holy Moly! Oh my word, thank you everyone for the letters and emails!!  Sister Warner keeps teasing me about it, but really I am so grateful, it makes for a good "pick me up" during the week and I love it!

How is everyone?? I cannot wait to read your emails! Harry...how is your toe doing? I have been praying for Stuart the 5th all week...(Harry..you should name your toe Stuart the 5th...then we could be twins!) Haha!

This week was incredible! Man oh man! We had Zone Conference on Tuesday and that was awesome! President Cleveland is my hero! I love Indiana but -- I know I was called here because of my Mission President. He just gets me so pumped up! You know he was a basketball coach because he has a way of motivating you like no one has ever before! It was all centered around the Book of Mormon! It isn’t called the Keystone of our religion for fun!! Haha! I got called on for a role play in front of all the zones so that was a fun time... (NOT) Austin I thought of you almost the whole time though because he talked about "our vision" and I couldn’t help but to think of how much you love to talk about "vision" Proverbs 29:18 baby!!! It was amazing! I took so many notes!

So, naturally after that awesome training Sister Warner and I were ready to go! We were so busy this week!! I would lay down at night and think "That was crazy....Let’s do it again!" I loved it! When you work hard, you find the most joy!! We found 4 new investigators. We had three investigators at church. It was awesome! Sister Warner says that she has never seen anything like this in Westfield...she said she can remember teaching 4 lessons a week and we just finished our 25th lesson this week! So we are really being blessed right now! There has been some trust issues with the sister missionaries previously, that we are trying to rebuild right now, but we are coming along! A family in the ward came to us last week and invited us to dinner where they would invite a nonmember family to join us. That was a huge step for Westfield! It went awesome!! Dad, you would love them! They are from Spain! (Madrid to be exact!) I thought of you the whole time! :) It went really well and the nonmember father came up and thanked us after for sharing the message on faith. So, we will see? (I told that story because the members are starting to open up a little more...so that is good!!) :)

This week was awesome! I know Heavenly Father answers prayers. Will you all pray for... Carlos? He has gone through almost all the lessons and is reading and praying and is having a hard time with knowing if it is true. (He is not a very feely kind of guy...so naturally FEELING the Holy Ghost has been a struggle for him) Pray for Dirk, (our snow shoveling miracle man) that he can stop smoking...his baptismal date is on the 22nd of March...so we are going to need a miracle!! Linda...that she will come to church! Those are the people with a "date" and there hang ups...so pray...ready, set, Go! :)

I love you all so very much! Oh by the way..I keep fogetting to tell you but, Sister Warners brother is serving his mission in good old Burley, Id...so keep your eye out for him! :)

I love you and pray for you like crazy!  As the famous President Cleveland says "May God bless you in this great work!"
