August 25, 2014

Hello Family and loved ones! :)

Hope you had a little less hectic week than the week before!! Congrats Brookie and Austin! You are official!!!  I am so happy for you both! : ) It's everyone's last week before school starts....GO HAVE SOME FUN! (but be safe Alex)  :) I am glad Mom and Dad had a good anniversary! Happy 25!!!

Well..what a wonderful week..SURPRISED? haha!! Sorry if I sound like every week is Heaven on Earth...BUT IT REALLY IS! :)

Monday-For preparation day we went with a less active and got her a dress to wear to church on Sunday...that was really fun and you could tell she was so excited to go out with Sister Missionaries and get a dress! :) She looked great on Sunday and it was so worth it! It had been a couple of years since she has been to church so that was great to see her there! :)

Tuesday- We had exchanges! I loved it! I always love getting new perspectives on missionary work and the way people teach...we had so many miracles that day! We were teaching a 20 year old boy..his name is Orlando (have I talked about him?) But, as we were teaching him...all his friends started to come over....by the end of the lesson we were teaching 6 of his friends! They ALL were asking questions and by the end ALL 6 of them wanted to know more and asked for a copy of the Book of Mormon! MIRACLE! The spirit was strong and those boys were good, honest, truth seeking boys. I am thankful that Orlando has friends! :)

Wednesday- We went to the TEMPLE in Chicago! Boy was it incredible! I am hoping I can get 3 temples in on my mission...(Kentucky, Chicago, and soon to be finished Carmel!) YAY! We went with a Mom..whose family is less active...she is such a strong woman and I admire her so much! Her faith is incredible! She is a recent convert and she is one fire! The days on the mission when you get to go to the temple are UNFORGETTABLE! Truly days where you feel of God's love and are so thankful for the house of the Lord!!

The rest of the week was wonderful! Lots of miracles..that I wish I could tell you ALL about...time is always a issue! We gave two church tours this week and they were both wonderful! We are starting to  give all the members a church tour so they can be thinking of a friend they can invite. I know that missionary work is going to explode because of these tours! :) We already have way more referrals and families who are excited to invite there friends on these tours!

On Saturday we had a Stake Cook Out and there were so many investigators there! I felt like a pig in mud! SO HAPPY! I was loving it! We met a family there who are the MOST SOLID investigators ever! The Bentleys (members)  brought them and I am so excited to teach them! The Mom is the sweetest! YAY for a another family!

Well...folks...it is starting to get VERY HUMID here! We walk out side and wonder who poured a bucket of water on us? haha Pray that I will be able to drink the same amount of water that it in the air!!! haha

Well...I love you all! I want you to know that I know that this gospel has been restored. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that through this book all the of our problems can become solutions. All our pains can find comfort. Any wound that is open can be healed. This Book I know is of God. I know it with all my heart. I will never take for granted this time in my life when I get to wear His name on my shirt and tell people about this Book. He lives and loves us. I am thankful to represent Him.

I hope you have a wonderful week and your challenge for the week is to have a gospel conversation! This message doesn't deserve to be kept quite! TELL EVERYONE!
Love you!

Love,

Sister Clegg the 3rd :)

To the ones I love more then I could ever say!

Wow...what a week for the family! As I read your emails my heart sunk and I could barely stand sitting in that library chair, but as I continued reading and found out everyone was okay.  I immediately said a prayer of gratitude and was filled with comfort. Thank you for your faith. I know that miracles do not happen unless there is faith there. So Brenny and Al I know that you have faith. Continue to grow in your faith. I love you so much and can not tell you how thankful I am that you two are okay. I love the mission but... hearing things like that scared the heck out of me!!!! BE SAFE!!!!!

I understand Miss Ash Clegg is home! Welcome Home Ash! Brookie...Congratulations! Wow! I cannot believe...another one bites the dust!! Cass and I decided we are thankful we will be there for each other's wedding..since everyone else is getting married!!!! haha!! I am happy for you Brookie...I just wish I could be there! :)

What a week!! We had so many good things! We continue to find people who are ready for the gospel! We got 6 new investigators and they all happened in such miraculous ways! We are teaching so many right now!  I have LOVED it! I find that I love my days so much better when I get to teach as much as possible! There is no greater joy!!!!

Miracle- So the Indiana Missionaries have been practicing a "church tour" for about three months now. There is certain art work involved with pictures in the church...it it a script we have had to memorize and it is just AWESOME! Any how....we are just starting to give them! We finally have all the art work in all the chapels!! (It has been a huge project!) So, we gave a tour to Vicky. (A part member family...husband is less active) and as we were giving the tour...we got to the baptismal font and gave a restoration lesson and committed her to be baptized at the end! She accepted and was so sweet! I will never forget the spirit that was there that day! Wow...church tours are incredible and so inspired! We have 6 tours of the church lined up for this week with new investigators and less active members! They are so special! President Cleveland is a very inspired man!

I don't have a ton of time because I had to read every email to make sure Brenny and Alex were okay! But this week we are going to the Chicago temple with a member! I am so excited! It is going to be a blast!

Mom and Dad! Happy Anniversary! I can not tell you how much you both mean to  me and the best friends you are in my life! I will continue to pray so much for you and the family! I love you!

I love you all! I know that God lives and answers prayers through other people.  I can not tell you how many times we ran into people this week who truly NEEDED the gospel!!  I am grateful to be a instrument! I know that the Lord works through the weak and simple. I love you and please be safe! Have a great week getting married, sitting on the couch (because your toe is currently not fully attached), working out in the fields with a little bump on your head, answering phones in that cute little front desk, and eating sand covered ice cream cones- the Harry way! :) LOVE YOU!
Love,
Sister Clegg the 3rd (I have decided I will always be the third...Ash you will always be the 1st and Cass...2nd!) Once a sister missionary always a sister missionary! :)

(For those not understanding all of this letter...)

Brennen had an accident at work on Tuesday late afternoon. He took a chain saw to left toe. He experienced a true miracle in being able to keep his toe. He went through a 2 hour surgery in Ketchum. They sewed two tendons together on the top of his toe, the chain saw had missed the artery, sewed the jagged skin somehow back together and now has a pin in his toe. He needs to wear a surgery boot and have the pin in for 3-4 weeks. Turns out you REALLY need your big toe for balance and walking etc! Who knew he would be so blessed to keep it!? They always wear chaps and protective eye wear when using the chainsaws...but he did not have steal toed boots on. He will be getting them now for sure!!! Lessons learned and miracles felt!!

On Thursday morning our family had been camping with Jeff's parents around the corner from our cabin. I got up with Alex when he left for work at 6am and got in the car and had prayer with him before he left. He went to work from 6:30-9am and was heading home. He fell asleep driving on the way home. He was going 65 mph on cruise control. He went off to the right, over corrected, and went sideways across the road to the left. He then went airborne and landed sideways into a large willow bush and the creek. He then jumped the creek in his car again and landed on the other side of the creek and landed into another willow bush. When he "came to" he was in the backseat of the car with his left leg up on the drivers seat. The drivers seat had broken and was laying flat on the backseat. He thought he had put his seat belt on before he left..but he had not. How he lived and survived is a true miracle. He climbed out of the broken window and began walking up to the road. Coincidentally (not a coincidence) a friend of his from Jerome, Parker Sheer, was driving past on the way to work on a house for work that day up here in Stanley. He recognized Alex walking onto the road and immediately pulled over. When Jeff and I arrived to the accident - the ambulance, fire crew, etc. with lights flashing were all there. (a parents nightmare) Alex was in the ambulance getting checked over to make sure he was okay. Jeff took him to Ketchum and he had a CT scan to make sure he was okay especially with his concussion history with basketball....but he basically has a small bump on his head and a small mark on his back....that is it. I am speechless. We have been reminded of the protecting hand of our Heavenly Father. We remain on borrowed blessings. We have learned many lessons and have been very humbled by Heavenly Fathers love for His children.

August 11, 2014

Hola!

Wow! What a week you all have had....ups and downs!! My thoughts and prayers sure go to Mike Deeres family. What a sad story. Glad you traveled safe to the funeral Dad and Mom. I pray for all those moments and for you all! Holy Moly.....ASH COMES HOME????? Didn't she just leave?  I cannot believe time on the mission...it just flies by! Brooky is getting married soon and life is flyin' by!  Please tell Ash I love her so much and I am so proud of her! She was an incredible missionary and her example strengthens me every day! I hope her adjustment is smooth.  I am already scared for that day! Thank goodness I have a little while! :)
We had a wonderful week! Wow! Nora got baptized!!! Her parents gave her a run for her money..but never have I seen such faith! She stayed so strong! Her parents took away her car and did not come to the baptism...but we saw her every day and the Lord really strengthen her! She looked so bright on Saturday! I know Heavenly Father was proud of her! I knew it! I am proud of her and she has become a very good friend of mine!

This week was incredible! I don't even know where to start as far as the miracles we have seen! We have done A LOT of "finding" this week because the investigators that were being taught previously were all about social visits.  I am not as much about that when it come to missionary work ...so we exercised our faith to go out and find those elect investigators and I do believe we found them! We found three families this week and two other investigators who are very humble and very teachable! It was incredible to watch the Lord put us where we are supposed to go! We are really trying to build up the ward right now, so we had made plans to visit a lot of less actives. However, a lot of them were not home so we went tracking and found some incredible people! It was a fun week!  I truly walked away from every conversation and looked up at the blue sky and wondered how I got to lucky to share this message.

I thought of a scripture as I went about doing this work this week. Helaman 7:29  I know this is a message of truth we share and hold in our lives. I know that this is the only way to joy, peace, and real direction!
I love Sister Evans...I love Mishawaka.  I love being a sister missionary!!! Every day when I write in my journal I reflect on the miracles I get to witness.   I know that with out a doubt that this is God's work! I love it and honored to be a instrument! I pray you will all have a wonderful week! I love you all more then I can say! Thank you for always being there and showing your love for Heavenly Father! That is all that really matters...

I love you! Have a great week!

Love,

Sister Clegg the 3rd.....(Does this mean next week..I will be Sister Clegg the 2nd...? Cass..then me??? Moving up in the world???) Haha-- I LOVE YOU!

August 4, 2014

Well Hello my fellow mates!!

What a week! :) I haven't read your emails this week yet so I don't know how you all are yet...but I trust you had a good week and that all is well!!!

So...new changes! I am in Mishawaka, Indiana. It is about 3 hours North of Carmel and it is a great little town! (Allie..remember when you guessed Michigan?...I have some of it in my area!)  Lots of Indian history here and some classic "Hoosiers"... I will explain what that means when I get home!  It is way different from Carmel. Carmel was the NICEST area in Indiana.  Mishawka... ummm lets just say there are a lot more humble people here? I love it and am excited to see what miracles Heavenly Father has in store!
My companion is Sister Evans...President surprised me and I am training again. She is from Salt Lake and is the sweetest thing! I am really excited about the time we get to spend together! Sister Hofheins stayed in Westfield..she promised me she would make sure Tim got baptized still.   (I have his phone number and address just in case!) haha!

I really like the Mishawaka ward...the Bishop was born in JEROME! :) Weird? Our ward mission leader served his mission in Jerome!  haha! Who would have thought!

The work is going really well...we are pulling the "we are new missionaries" card and getting into all the homes so we can learn who everyone is as soon as possible! We have a lot of work to do...the chapel was very empty yesterday when we went to church. We have seen God's grace so much though this week! We found some awesome new investigators and Nora (who was investigating the church prior to us coming) committed to get baptized this SATURDAY! She is the sweetest thing! She is 18 years old and I love her already! Her parents are really struggling with her decision to get baptized...so will you all pray for her parents heart to be soften?

Overall this week has been a MAJOR rely on the Lord week! It was hard to leave my Westfield....and  now we have so much to learn that I just turned it all over to the Lord.  I have grown in testimony of the Atonement! I gained so much strength from the Savior that me, myself, and I could not have had. I am so thankful to have someone, my Savior who can give me strength. I need him and I am so thankful that He IS ALWAYS there! I love this work! I am motivated and inspired to go to work! I plan on being a instrument in the Lord's hand this week as much as possible!
I love you all! You really do all mean the world to me! I can not thank you enough for your prayers and the things you do for me!
Love you so much!  I am ALWAYS praying for you!
Love,
Sister Clegg the 3rd
