August 10, 2015 -My Last Mission Letter Written....

The Hardest Thing I'll Ever Have To Do....

Wow....

I cannot tell you the way that I feel right now... but I can tell you that something inside of me hurts... that I couldn't be happier... and the gratitude I have for these 18 months is nearly overwhelming!!! There are just no words!! There is nothing I can say or do to describe how this time in Indiana has been for me!! I have truly LOVED every second!! I have LOVED the hard times, I have LOVED the hilarious and the fun times!! I have LOVED the spiritual and sacred memories and I will cherish them forever!! Finishing my mission with the Indiana temple open house as been nothing short of a dream come true! There have been 90,190 people who have come through the temple on the tour and got to feel of the spirit that is in the House of the Lord! Being able to be a part of this has been more than I could dream of!! I have seen and had more spiritual experiences in these 4 weeks then I could have even imagined!!  The temple is a sacred place!

Some of the Indiana Temple Missionaries!!

I want to tell you all how much I love you! I grateful I am for your support and the love that you ALWAYS give me!! I am so blessed by each and every single person I have in my life!! I love the gospel and I love people! That is why the mission has been the best thing in the entire world!!! But what gives me "hope" and a greater sense of faith..is that those two things do not stop when I walk off that plane..I still will be with people...the ones I love very much...and I will always be a disciple of Jesus Christ!! So, though there is a transition period... I am excited to keep serving, to keep loving, to keep bearing my testimony all the time, and to continue to progress every day!! Indiana is not the end. I have loved Indiana more then words can describe and leaving is the hardest thing I have ever done!! But, the bond I have for these people and love that I have will NEVER go away!!

It's now time to be grateful...because anything else just won't do!! I am grateful for my testimony. I am grateful for the people I have been able to teach. I am grateful for Atonement of Jesus Christ. I love Him! I love my Heavenly Father. I know the priesthood power is on the earth. I am grateful I have been blessed by it soooo much!! I am grateful for a prophet who receives revelation ...even so wonderful as to let me serve a mission at age 19. I am grateful for life itself!!

I have a testimony of this gospel. It changes people...which fulfills the whole purpose of this life...to change for the better....to become more like our Heavenly Father! The gospel is the way to access that change!! The Book of Mormon helps us know how to access the Atonement. It has changed my life forever and I love that Book!!

I love you all. I will be a mess when I get off that plane..haha - but I am so excited to give you all a big OLD HUG! How blessed I am to have a family like you! I love you all and will see you soon!
God be with you till we meet again!
Love,
Sister Clegg

Herrrow!!!

What another great week... The Indiana temple open house this week was amazing and I am so thankful for the opportunity to be there everyday!! There was about 8000 people who came through the temple on Saturday alone!! The temple reception tent is so fun because you just answer and answer questions non-stop. You forget to eat and everything because you are just answering questions!! It is just so fun to teach and testify ALL the time. I absolutely love it!!!

Funny experience- so Sister Peel and I realized after working at the temple reception tent one day that we had not eaten at all!! After we could take finally take a second to breath, we realized we were starving!  So we went over across the street and got something to eat. As we were sitting there, this lady came up..sat right next to us and told us she was from "the tent"! (the protesters tent...they have been there the whole time.) Then she proceeded to go on and on and just talking us like crazy. I just sat there and listened to her and when she was all done.... I told her how much God loved her and then we left.... but, boy oh boy!  She was a fiery one! haha!  I am so grateful for the gospel!!

I had my departing interview with President Cleveland this week...it was so good!! Words can't really describe how much I love that man. At the end of my interview, he gave me a big hug and kissed me on the forehead. He is so sweet and I am truly thankful for him and the influence he has been in my life.

Well, this is all so strange...I can't believe my days are numbered as a missionary. I want to tell you how much I love you all. I am thankful for your support and love. I promise I will work hard this week and finish strong! I promise I will be happy where ever I am. The words "bittersweet" don't really describe what I am feeling but, I will choose to be grateful!!  I love you all and hope you have a great week. I know this will be the best week of my mission!! :)
I LOVE YOU ALL!
Love,
Sister Clegg
Breakfast with Mattie - Purdue University - came to visit the temple open house!

Note from Mom:
This week we received a call from a Brother Fishburn in Indiana. He has been with Mikesell a very good portion of her mission (beginning and end). He is with the Stake where Mikesell is serving. (High Councilor over the Ward Mission Leaders)  He left a message on the cabin phone and we arranged a time for both Jeff and I to call him back and talk to him. It was truly a very tender moment listening to this dear man tell story after story of his experiences with Sister Clegg. He spoke of her "being without guile" and talked of her ability to love people in a way where she has been able to work miracles by the love she holds in her heart for them. She has truly given her heart and soul into her mission.
I wrote her this morning and said to her I was worried about her coming home...how it may be hard...very hard. She wrote back, "It is so bittersweet Mom. I don't want to loose the feelings that I feel daily, yet I know the mantel of a missionary has to go away. There is still joy ahead... God didn't intent for Joy to stop at age 21...this is a sacred chapter and I have to choose to be grateful. I just can't express how grateful I truly am for my time as a missionary!!!"
- Out of the mouth of babes- I am just so happy for her...

Herrrow!!!

Man oh man! This week literally was so special... The temple was absolutely incredible and the conversations I had with people that came into the tent were so great! I think about D&C 108:7...I delight in uplifting conversation. I am so grateful for this temple!! We got to bring up quite a few less actives and investigators this week and all their experiences were awesome! I love how the temple demands us to simply just be better people. Even people who are not members walk out of that building a little taller and with a desire to draw close to God, that feeling you get in the temple is undeniable!!

On Monday I had the prompting to call all of my investigators and recent converts and get them to  the temple from my previous areas, and boy has that been so neat for me!!!  Number one to see them, but number two to let them feel the spirit. I called Dirk Warner (recent convert -the snow shoveling man) and we set up a time to go through together. As he was walking through the temple he told me "He is here" ...I instantly knew what it was we were both feeling and I was so thankful for it. He since then has called me and told me he is going to talk to Bishop and see if he can receive his endowments soon!! The temple once again...demands a sense of improvement!! MIRACLE! I lost it when he told me that!

Oh my goodness..how do I describe to you all how this weekend was? I literally cannot. Doug, William, Patricia, and Keli all made it to the waters of baptism! It was the most special day of my mission. (well...one of them...but its up there!) I have been so blessed to literally be apart of their journey from day one. It was so truly special!! Doug was so emotional and filled with the peace it was nearly incredible. Keli was so happy I thought she was going to die....she made it and hasnt smoked in two and half weeks! Patrica was absolutely terrified of the water...but she was so brave and Brother Fishburn took such good care of her. William was the sweetest thing in the entire world! They carried him down into the font and baptized him. He is 83 years old and clean as a whistle! BOY OH BOY....how thankful I am!

As we were waiting for everyone to get changed we watched some bible videos and we were watching Christ's Atonement, I realized in that moment how truly grateful I was for the Atonement. It was the atonement that made Doug stop being an alcoholic and want to be a leader in his family and  home. It was the Atonement that helped Keli with the strength to stop smoking and for the first time in her life, do something for herself. It was the Atonement that allowed Patricia into that water and overcome the greatest fear, and it was the Atonement that let William be so humble to be baptized at age 83. I then realized "the big picture" I cannot tell you how thankful I am for the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I love him. I want to be more like Him, and how thankful I am for His example.

This week was one of my favorites! I will treasure it forever.
I love you all! You are the best!

Love,

Sister Clegg

July 20, 2015

HERROW!

Wow...Where to begin? I am doing so good! This week has been so incredible! The VIP tours for the Indiana Temple were all this last week...then the real deal started on Friday the 17th. There was 3000 people on Friday and 4000 people on Saturday who came and saw the beautiful temple! It is just gorgeous! We have had nearly everyone come through the temple (as far as our investigators) and boy were all of them so special! Doug was probably my favorite...he has decided for sure to be baptized this Saturday because of the temple experience he had! It sealed the deal for him in his heart! We are so excited for him and happy he got his answer! He is converted and knows from the spirit that the gospel is true. It was a great experience! Doug told us..he is pretty sure he has been on cloud 9 since the temple!  Me and him both! #storyofmylife

Funny story- Dad you know the "pass along cards" we send to each other..? Well it sure did come in handy one day at the temple. So, Elder Richards (who is part of the temple department) was giving VIP tours all week so we got to talk to him a lot and he was asking me where I was from. I said Stanley (I say wherever the family is at ...at the time!)  He mentioned how he had plans to go up there but then was called to the Temple department...but still had plans on visiting Redfish. He asked for the information on Redfish and I GAVE HIM "Your personalized "Redfish" pass along card". haha I don't know how much I was fulfilling my missionary purpose but, hey! I thought you would appreciated it! :)

Everyone is doing so well! Let me give you a update!

Patrica and William- Man...oh man...soo good! They are ready for Saturday! Patricia has been terrified of the water this whole time. But we found out that one of the members of the Crossroads ward is a water aerobics instructor...so we asked her if there was anything she could do to help Patricia.  She was so sweet and totally hopped on board with helping with it! They both went to a pool this week and Patrica got in the water up till her arm pits! She did so good and she is going to do it again before Saturday..but she told us last night that she and William are ready and very excited! She told us she never thought she would be overcoming her fear of water now in her life! The gospel improves ALL aspects of our life! I am so humbled to be a part  of their journey! They are the best 70 year olds ever! (Besides my Grandma's and Grandpas..of course!)
Doug is doing sooo good! He is ready for Saturday as well and is so excited! I almost have never seen someone so excited!? He texts us and asks if he can do it today all the time! :) haha! I love DOUGERS! :) He is 63 years old. :)
Keli is the biggest miracle of all time! :) She has been addicted to cigarettes since she was 11 years old and she is 56....she had just finished her week and half mark of not smoking at all! She is doing so good...we are constantly having members text her and we are texting her...she teases us that she doesn't have anytime to smoke because everyone is always texting her! (just the way I like it!) :) She is so excited to be clean...she has had one heck of a story and I am so thankful she gets to get rid of all the "stuff" on Saturday...she is getting a very much needed new start!
Pray for Saturday...truly the best day ever!

Some of our investigators at the temple!!!!

Things are so incredibly busy but soo good! We are struggling to find time to have personal study so we have gotten the Book of Mormon on CD and listen to it on the way up to the temple. (no lie)  Life is so incredible! This week I will probably be in Heaven...4 of my favorite people get to go into the waters of baptism and make a covenant with God. I get to be at temple all week...and see how the spirit of the temple changes people. Plus I just am loving seeing everyone I know from all over Indiana at the temple.  Do you see why I get confused if this is Heaven or Indiana? :) Life is so very good...I have told Sister Peel to pinch me a few 10 times this week! Just feel so very grateful and blessed!!

(Mom) If I were guessing...Mikesell wants to swim in the fountain and knows she can't....

I know the Temple is the house of the Lord...one persons descriptions of the temple has really stuck out to me, He said "Its amazing how you can build a building that creates a feeling!" I know that the feeling that is in the Temple is the Spirit of God, The temple is changing people...and its changing me. I am thankful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ that make change possible. I love you all and am praying for you! Thank you for all your support and love. It means the world!!

You are the best! :)
Love,

Sister Clegg

July 13, 2015

Hi There!!!

AHHH! WOW! WHERE DO I BEGIN!
This week has literally  been the best ever! :) I only have 4 minutes so I am so sorry... but, I wanted to share a temple experience I had....

One experience I will hold near to my heart is Saturday night, I was welcoming people into the reception tent at the new temple and open house and there was a man named Donny who came up to me and I asked him how the tour went. He immediately responded "I'm overwhelmed." I asked him why, and began to explain to me that he had been addicted to alcohol and drugs for over 27 years and nothing compared to feeling he felt in the temple. He was silent and began to get eyes full of tears. I testified to him that I knew God loved him and that the feeling he felt was the spirit of God. He thanked me and I guided him to the comment card where he could request for missionaries to come teach him. He did and he was filled hope for the future. I was grateful for an experience on day one of the temple open house that built mine and his testimony. I love the TEMPLE!

Everyone is doing great! Keli has been smoke free for 3 days now!!! We had 10 investigators at church! Life is just so crazy busy! Our schedule consists of temple in the morning till 4pm and then afternoons to teach peeps! I love it and I am loving life! There is so much joy in this work and then being busy in the work!

I love you all! I am so sorry it is short! You are the best and I am praying for you!
I  LOVE YOU!!!

Love,
Sister Clegg

July 6, 2015

HOLA!

You all sound so great and busy! Dad..I am so glad you had a great bday! I had a great "your bday" day too! :) I thought of you a ton and couldn't believe my Daddio was 50! Wow... "Growing old is required, growing up is optional" :)

Oh my..some times a 10 minute phone call would do better then an attempt to tell you how wonderful this week was..but here we go!
So, we had transfers this week... I am blessed to be with my girl Sister Peel! She is so great! She has been out for a year and is from Alabama (not Utah...weird - right?) She is a great worker and is tough..my kind of girl! :)
There are 16 sisters in our zone right now because of the temple and they are all so excited! I am grateful to be where I am at and at the timing I am at. This is going to be the best transfer ever!
Everyone is progressing so well, literally I don't know even what is happening but I will continue to recognize who is doing it and be so very grateful. Crossroads is a miracle land and I could serve here for the rest of my life!!
The Dennis family is on a baptismal date now and they are all doing so well! As we were teaching them this week, Daphne the Mama..told us she knew this was true and she has never felt the way she does and has in her entire life!! They committed to be baptized on August 8th and I am so excited for them. I LOVE THEM! Patricia and William are doing wonderful!! They too received their answer that they knew this was the true church. Patricia expressed how scared she was of water and how she is scared to get baptized but she knows it is something she needs to do so...will you all pray for her that she will not be afraid!? They are both progressing so well! She has read the Book of Mormon every single day since we committed them too, plus she hasn't missed church for a solid month and half! :) :)
Keli is incredible and is getting there with smoking..she needs ALL the prayers she can take...she needs to stop this week to make her date so please...put her in those prayers too! She is reading The Book of Mormon every day and being so faithful!
Doug and Cherry made huge break throughs this week! They are getting so close to being able to commit to a date again. They are on the DIVING BOARD...now they just need to JUMP! :)
7 people at church this week and they all loved church! I loved church! Sometime testimony meetings in the crossroads ward are very interesting but...this one was perfect! :) (this is the only Mormon church that I know that is allowed to say Amen, Hallelujah, and clap in sacrament meeting, and get away with it!?) There is a Baptist kind of feel to church and I LOVE it! haha!

Well, this week is going to be crazy!

Tuesday- STL training meeting at the temple
Wednesday-All sister training meeting at the temple
Thursday- Zone meeting
Friday- Speaking at girls camp
Sunday- All missionaries are getting a VIP tour of the temple with our investigators. (the temple open house hasn't even started yet...but the Temple President is giving permission to have all missionaries and their investigators go through early!)  We have 10 people committed to come already!
I can not tell you how excited I am about the temple! I literally am like a little girl at Christmas! I have been tracking and contacting for a year and half (almost) about this beautiful building and the moment is finally here! AHHH! I cannot wait! I will make sure to write in my journal every night so I will never forget it!
In the middle of all this goodness...we will strive to preach the gospel!  PRAY FOR ME! :) Its so busy and so great...and I have never been happier!!
I love you all and am thankful for you all! :)

P.S. We were able to see fireworks with our zone...we got to stay out til 10:30pm and it was wonderful to celebrate America!!!

June 29, 2015

ALOHA! Happy Birthday to the two things I love most this week! My Dad and America!!!

Happy Birthday Daddy-O this week! Holy...I cannot believe I am missing the big 5-0! haha Don't worry...we will party when I return! :) I love you more then ever and I couldn't ask for a better Daddy-o..One of my heroes! Thank you for changing my life! Make sure you stay dry and give them a run for their money..I believe you "still got it!" :)

Temple Update- we have a sisters conference on the 8th for training on temple tours and prepping for that, a tour of the temple on the 13th, and then the real deal happens on the 17th! We are all so excited! I am worried about keeping up with all the people we are teaching and doing the temple tours... but I know the Lord will keep these people progressing and we will see miracles at the temple and in the roads! :)

Exchanges for the day- Temple in background!
Transfers are this week! It is going to be a crazy transfer, President is bringing a lot of sisters into the zone because of the temple and traveling...so there will be 18 sisters in our zone...our poor zone leaders! haha There are 30 missionaries leaving this transfer (Sister Hunt and Goodstein included) but, there are 19 new Elders and 9 Sisters coming out so we will have a younger missionaries..which is great! They are perfect additions! I will miss Sister Tua greatly! She is truly one of my best friends! I cannot tell you the fun we have had and the miracles we have seen together!! Her ability to love is incredible! She is one big teddy bear!  President told her she would stay close to me so, she will be able to come back for all these baptisms that WE ARE GONG TO HAVE! haha! We are hoping this transfer will be the winner for a lot of these people we are teaching! :)

Doug unfortunately did not get baptized but, I actually wasn't sad about it at all.... I know it will happen! He wants to be truly converted and he said he is almost there but now yet...it will happen. I will continue to do all I can and then I know the Lord will take care of it. Doug is the best! Just like a Grandpa to me!! :)

Church was amazing this week! Wow...we had the 11 people at church! Sister Tua and I were ball babies because we were so humbled to be part of this miracles. The Dennis family all came and they are doing great! They have all committed to be baptized on August 8th...I literally love that family! They have all of my heart! The kids are ...ahhh... I just love them!  Patricia and William are doing great! They committed to live the WofW and LofC this week. Keli told us this week that she knows this church is true and she is down to 6 cigs a day...which is huge for her! She is doing incredible! Cherry is alive! We haven't seen her in forever because of the baby and everything and for a while we thought we lost her for good, but we saw her this week and she told us she realized how much she needs us and church in her life. She found out there was a difference! She said she was going to come to church next week! That was the happiest moment of my life! WHOO!

As you can tell this week was soooooooooo great! I just pray every night that I can keep up with Crossroads miracles. This has literally been the best 3 months ever. There is so much work always to be done and it just feels comfortable to be here. These people are family. We call everyone Mama and Papa and everyone calls us their babies! :) haha One big happy family! I am so grateful!!

This weeks thoughts have been focused a lot on the principle of having a perspective. That is one of the things I have learned the most is God's vision and view of things. I know that is when true peace comes...when we see the way God sees them. I know God is in the details!!

I love you all! Have a great 4th of July! MY FAVORITE HOLIDAY!

I love you!
Its bell lap time....time to go hard. :)

June 22, 2015

Greetings!

Wow...thank you everyone for your kindness and thoughtfulness. You are the best! Sounds like everyone is well!!! Redfish is a pretty hard place not to just be happy 24-7 --- 365! :)

This week was so great! Lots and lots of rain..it was a struggle staying dry this week but I counted it as one of God's Grace! I love the water! :) We have been so busy this week...Sister Tua and I were sitting in Relief Society this week and both were nodding our heads trying to stay awake...once we realized what we were doing we were dying laughing. This week has been a hopping, busy week! :) But, we are so grateful for people to teach and see!!It is rainy and humid but we are so happy!!

Peep update..
Oh man oh man....So, on Thursday we went and saw Patricia and William and they have come to church 3 times and they are being so stubborn about committing to a baptismal date. However the Lord soften their hearts so much this week, Patricia said she has never felt better in her entire life and how happy she was with her relationship with Heavenly Father, with her testimony and her prayers. She finally broke loose and said she would like to get baptized and William too! They are so sweet and humble! :)  Here they are in there 70's and striving to follow their Savior. They are working towards July 25th. The ward absolutely loves them! I don't blame them at all! :)

Oh my gosh......DOUG!!!!! Doug went over the "hump"  He received so many answers this week and we had so many powerful lessons this week with him!! He has committed to be baptized this Saturday and we are so excited! Sister Tua  and I were walking home from his appointment and we were just smiling and sooooo happy...(no one can explain the way those moments feel, but they are something compared to Heaven!!! We walked into our apartment and starting screaming and jumping around every where. In the words of Doug himself..."I made you work for it, didn't I?"  Yes... what a great day! :)

We found the most solid family in the entire world this week! Single mother...and 5 kids...they all came to church this week and oh my word, they have my whole heart. I love them dearly! Pray for the Dennis family. God is blessing us so very much, We don't deserve any of it, but I will strive to be a vessel. I tell you what...if anything has prepared me more for my mission ...specifically church..it would be waiting tables at Redfish!! (no lie!) Church is insanely busy but a happy busy and 500 million people need you and the gospel!!  Its just like waiting tables when it is busy...you smile and act like you are calm, and inside you are about to freak out! Right?

Man, my testimony has truly grown this week, in a lot of ways. God lives. God loves us. I know that He is in the details and that through the Saviors Atonement we are given ultimate hope. I know how powerful love is. I now know that God's love is the most important thing we can spread. His love provides hope, peace, joy, second chances, knowledge, strength, and life the way God intended it to be. 1 Peter 4:8 Charity is what is the most powerful. I love my Heavenly Father. I know He loves us, I know improvement and progression is possible because of love... more importantly His love.
I LOVE YOU! Thank you for your love. It is special to me! :)
Have a great week!
LOVE THE HECK OUT OF PEOPLE!

June 15, 2015

Well..another week...they are slipping through my fingers.. I didn't mean to blink but... it is MONDAY AGAIN! :)

Sounds like you are all doing well and happy!

This week was so super-duper!! :) All the weeks are...its pretty hard not to when you are wearing a name tag! :) We had Interviews with President, which was wonderful! He told me I would be finishing my mission in Crossroads, which I was so thankful for! I love this place and these people. Sister Tua is leaving at the end of the transfer..which makes me so sad..I LOVE THAT GIRL! She has taught me so many good things and we laugh our little heads off everyday. (I know that God has a sense of humor-because he watches Sister Tua and I go around preaching the gospel! :) I will treasure these two weeks we have together! :)

Waiting for Interviews

We also had Zone meeting and we showed our video again! haha!! I need to give it to Sister Cleveland so you can all see it! We went on exchanges with two companionships this week. Both were great! One was with my homegirl ...SISTER CRANDALL... My MTC companion! It was a party and it was good to be with her and see how much she has grown! It was blast!

Church was awesome! We were blessed once again with 5 investigators at church! Patricia and William are doing soooo good! They are so faithful at being ready on time and then some members have been coming to help them in the car and then they come to church! Patricia said to me yesterday that she loves coming to church and that she is feeling so good. They are both in their 70's and are the cutest couple in the world! I love them so much!

The adversary is bumping up his game with the temple. I can feel the goodness and the excitement in the air with the temple, but I also am seeing so much the adversary work so hard on these people. We are praying and working so closely with the members and investigators but man oh man...Satan is giving us his best shoot!  :) He is going down.

Progress on the Investgators...everyone has their own little "hump" they are trying to get over now...but I don't doubt for a second they cant get over it. It is moments like these that make champion recent converts...they just need to be tough!

It has been a  great week! Today we have another Volleyball tourny and we are coming in with a lot of "haters" so...we got a big game today! haha But, I believe that we will win! :) haha ill let you know!

Sister Tua and I were blessed with the opportunity to be able to speak in church yesterday and I was able to give my talk on Elder Oaks talk "Parable of the Sower" and I loved that talk! You all need to go and read it! Where are you grounded and how deep are your roots? I am thankful for the Savior of the World that made it possible for us to change soils if we need to, or just simply dig a little deeper!  I love My Savior and I am thankful for him! Helaman 5:12 :)

Love you!
Love,

Sister Clegg

Dearest loved ones!

What a week for you all! Harry..I am so happy for you! You are such a great kid...it will be fun to go home and see you pass the sacrament! :) Things like that are actually really what matter most!!

This week was awesome! We had MLC this Friday and it was really good. Sister Tua and I had to give a training and we (us and the elders) made a song to mix it up a little and it was so fun! :) Sister Cleveland said she was going to put it on the facebook page...so be looking!  It is pretty funny... you will never imagine what I was...but I was the background dancer!  It is quite a sight to see!!
MLC was so good....President is a wonderful man...he is such a coach!! Always knows how to fire us up! :) We have interviews with President this week and Zone meetings so that will be fun! :)
The peeps are doing great! Cherry had her BABY!!!! :) We had 5 people at church this week and were incredibly blessed!
I am sorry this is short...we have very little time...sorry! I love you all! You are the best! :)

Letter 2:

Okay....we got more time...so I can get be a little more detailed!
It was a little delayed because we were sitting in the library and all of a sudden these two chicks just started beating each other up and then things got real!  It was intense...Sister Tua and I just sat there in awe....we are totally fine but, it got a little cra cra! :) whoo!!  #onlyincrossroads

haha wooo...okay I will try and welcome the spirit!! :)

Saturday was a very pleasant surprise and I saw an Idaho number show up on our phone and I was driving and so Sister Tua answered it and a very familiar voice said..."Is Sister Clegg there?" Lone and behold it was President Boren! I about died! haha We made plans that night and we went out for pie...it was so special to see him and I was reminded so quickly how blessed I am to have a Branch President like him. He is such a good man and I am so thankful for that tender moment in time. That was an hour  I will never forget! :)

I love you all so much and I am so thankful for this gospel. It brings so much peace in a world full of craziness. I also am so thankful for being able to serve in Crossroads! I have seen some crazy things but, boy no one can beat the people here. They instantly love you and take you as one of their own. They are so incredibly humble and have huge hearts. I have and had lots to learn from these people. I love them and I am so thankful for what they are allowing me to become. I read a quote by CS Lewis this week that I absolutely loved...

"Give me all of you!!! I don’t want so much of your time, so much of your talents and money, and so much of your work. I want YOU!!! ALL OF YOU!! I have not come to torment or frustrate the natural man or woman, but to KILL IT! No half measures will do. I don’t want to only prune a branch here and a branch there; rather I want the whole tree out! Hand it over to me, the whole outfit, all of your desires, all of your wants and wishes and dreams. Turn them ALL over to me, give yourself to me and I will make of you a new self---in my image. Give me yourself and in exchange I will give you Myself. My will, shall become your will. My heart, shall become your heart.”

Our purpose is pretty simple. It is to allow Christ to kill the natural man. Let that part go and give it all to our loving Heavenly Father. He can create more than we could have imagined, its just are we willing to let go of the one thing that halts our progression. The natural man. As the good old folks from crossroads say.."Let go, and Let God"
I love you all. I know Christ can transform us all. I have seen it... I have experienced it...and continue to everyday.
Love you!

A tan not a sunburn!!!

(The title of my letter is that because we decided to "weekly plan" outside this week and well...the sun is bright and the morning is .......hot. (Dad you will get that reference.) haha but...lets just say I got a little burnt and tracing for the rest of the week was a pleasant experience!! :)  We also found out that sister tua doesn't burn, she just gets darker! :)
Happy Birthday this week to Bey Bey, and Austy roo! I love you both more then ever! You both are such wonderful influences in my life....how did I get so lucky to have you both?

Ummm Where do I start? It was such a good week! We literally had such a solid day...every day! We were so blessed...we found so many new investigators and lots of really good lessons!

Favorite miracle of the week- So, we went on exchanges on Wednesday and I was with Sister Clayson in Crossroads..and we were on our way to teach one of our investigators name Patricia, she is so sweet. She is 68 and her hubby is in a wheelchair and can hardly speak. We found them tracking and they are just so sweet. Patrica the whole time we have been teaching her has said that "she knows the things we are teaching are true" but, she said she would not convert. so we had been over there like 4 times and this time it was basically just to 'make it" of "break it"... so I was basically telling Sister Clayson that we were going to drop her. Well...Heavenly Father made me eat my words! haha I loved it! :) We went and taught her and invited her to church and she said she wasn't sure because of William (her hubby) and this whole time I didn't even think William could talk and he put up his head and said that he wanted to go to church!!! Well, you first should have seen our faces but then second seen Patricias! She was so surprised and was so happy! She said they would both love to! So we came and helped them both into their car on Sunday morning and  they followed us to church and they both stayed for all three hours. William with the few words that he specks said he wanted to come next week! :) Whoo! It was awesome!! :)

Update on peeps-
Cherry was supposed to be baptized this weekend but the doctor told her they are inducing her on Thursday....so that maybe a little delayed! haha I guess iI cant be too mad about her having a baby right? We also got to hold her snake this week and that was the creepiest thing in the world! Cherry is going to let us watch the snake be fed tomorrow....ewww...;0
Keli- doing great..she was smoking 20 cigs a day...we have got her down to 10..so there is some progression. Pray for her....
Doug, Zach, Izzy, JT, and shekila are all doing great....moving right along.

We also got to go to 'Mormon Night" at the Indians Baseball game with our ward mission leader on Saturday night! That was really fun....the game got delayed because it started pouring raining!  It was really fun!

Some temple dates...Lots of you are asking... Open House will be from July 17th through August 8th ..the dedication on the 23rd. The youth are working on their celebration dance and we were just told that the sister missionaries are going to be able to do some tours and be really involved in the temple open house. I am so glad because I am close to the temple so I hope I will be used a lot!:)

Well, This week was one of the best weeks ever! I just thought about so many times how blessed I was and how thankful I am to be a missionary. I wish you all could see the way the Lord prepares people when there is a temple being built. Less actives, actives, and nonmembers. His work is hastening and He is preparing people to except the gospel. I am just "showing up" and He is doing the rest! how thankful and grateful I am! :)
I love you all! Have a wonderful week of June! Go share the gospel with someone! :)

Herrow Family!

What a week...for you and me! :) Brenny, I just can not believe that you are graduating this week...I keep on telling you that you can not grow up with out me! You are not listening to well!! :) Harry...you are growing like a weed yourself and going to have a big old birthday here soon! I will be praying for all of you and that this week is a memorable week with miracles as well!

My Week:
Monday's Reminder- was great! We got to go spend some of the day with the Dellingers (recent convert in the Westfield ward) and be with them. They spoiled us rotten and just took good care of us! I realized how blessed I truly was to know these family and be a part of their miracle. Tim is really doing well. He is active in his calling and I am thankful for his example of humility and kindness. Everytime I come over he tells his family and friends his "daughter" is coming home. He is so very kind and I am blessed to have that family in my life.

Tuesday's JOY- was such a good day...we just worked our little tale ends off...we were able to teach so many wonderful people and found a really neat new investigator named Dominic. We see him tomorrow and we are anxious to teach him. He was so sincere about seeking for truth. We came home that night and couldn't stop smiling....hard work = JOY!

Wednesday's MIRACLE- We had a miracle! So, a week ago Bishop had given us some assignments to go and visit some people he had been thinking about. So, we had been working through that list and got to Sister Richardson, who Bishop had not seen in years and wanted us to give her a try. So, we called her the day before and she was so sketched out about us calling. She kept asking us why we were calling and who sent us. We played the "new missionary" card and that we just wanted to get to know her. So, after being VERY persistent with her she said we could come the next day in the afternoon but...she said we needed to call her first. Well, Sister Tua and I are no "greenies" anymore. We knew what she was doing so as soon as we got off the phone with her, we scheduled to see her at 11am the next day!! haha Well, we pull up the next day at 11am and her door was wide open and you could smell bacon and hear some good old gospel music. We knock on the door and she lets us in with a big smile on her face and everything! We got to know her a little bit and long story short, she was planning on not ever answering the door but, she said the night before she was saying her prayer and the spirit told her we were coming in the morning and to let us in! :) I LOVE that woman...if you don't know what "soul power" is you just need to meet Sister Richardson...she has got some SOUL! She came to church on Sunday and is coming out teaching with us this week! MIRACLE!

Thursday's Grace- We were teaching Doug and as we were reading Enos with him, he just paused and we asked him what he was thinking. His eyes filled with tears and he just said, "I am thankful I know there is a God" that hit me like a ton of bricks. I can't believe how lucky we are to just know....there is a Father in Heaven!!

Friday's Hooiser- Friday we were tracking at 730 and it was so beautiful! The weather...everything was perfect! We went and knocked on Jeff's door (good name ugh?) and here comes the good old hooiser...no shirt...beer in one hand...cigarette in the other...He pretty quickly allows us to teach him on his porch and I boy, I wish you all could have been there. The spirit was and could not have been stronger. I walked away from that lesson, with the sun on my back, and about to ready to float...I was on such a spiritual high! He committed to come to church and we have taught him 2x since then. mmmmmmm

Weekend on blessings!- Such a good weekend. Lots of teaching, laughs, and good tracking stories. Doug and Keli came to church, they loved it! :) Jeff didn't end up making it...due to the Indy 500 race....he said that this was a religion to him, he promised he would come next week.  I wasn't kidding when I said he was a hooiser! haha (remind me when I get home to tell you about the long version of what happened to Jeff that day!) haha!

I could go on and on but I save the rest for later! :) This week was so wonderful! I know that I am being led by a mission President who has communication with God, more then a million times he has been an answer to a prayer for me and done it in such a  loving manner. I love him and I am thankful for his sweet wife. They are games changers to me in my life and I love them dearly.

I love this gospel. I know it is true. I know there is goodness that radiates from the gospel. I love the word radiate. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ Radiate, they are light and truth and I love them dearly. I know the spirit has many roles to help us in our life. I am thankful for that!
I love you all! Good luck this week and don't forget to be consistent! :)

God bless you in this great work! :)
Love,
Sister Clegg

HEROOWWW!
This week was so great!
Lets just start with.....

Monday......VOLLEYBALL TOURNEY!
Okay so for our preparation day one of the members owns a sports complex with 8 volleyball courts and so we got permission to have a multi zone volleyball tourney. And it was the best preparation day I have had my whole mission! haha!! There was like 70 missionaries there and the teams were separated by districts and we played nearly all day out in the sun and sand! It was so fun!
So...we were pretty lucky and well lets just say our district is pretty stacked and so we played 14 games in a row...made it to the championship game and WE WON THE WHOLE THING! haha!! We were so pumped! You should of seen all of us cheering at the end...you would have thought we won something much bigger then a volleyball tourney on pday!  (#missionaryprobs) I literally had dreams and couldn't stop thinking about it for hours straight after the games! :) It was a glory moment!!

The rest of the week was much like the volleyball tourney...SO GOOD! We are seeing Cherry so much right now because she is so close to making the decision to be baptized! :) Pray for her...her boyfriend is giving her some grief.

Kayce and the kids are doing so good! They fed us two nights ago and they cleaned their house and they just are overall doing awesome! I love the fire of a recent convert! Our goal is that no one ever leaves or looses that fire right??? :)

Exciting news....we found a hippy this week! :) She is awesome! I secretly have always loved the hippy life! So being around her is kind of fun! Her name is Peddle and she is so sweet! Very anti a lot of things we believe in but, something keeps telling me to not give up on her!

This week I have studied a lot about Grace. I would encourage you all to read the talk Elder Uchtdorf gave on grace this most recent general conference. It is spot on. Grace does cover thankfully...and we now just get to follow and keep the commandments simply because we love him! :) I love my Heavenly Father! The power of Love is describable. It allows behavior, thoughts, and actions to change!!! I know love is what allows us to be who God wants us to be, who He knows we can become!!!

On that note..I LOVE you all!!!

Love,

Sister Clegg

What is up!? :)

Alex..I am so happy to hear your patriarchal blessing went well! I will never forget that day ...and I pray that you won't ever! Did you get my email? RESPOND you little rat sniffer! You only have three months to email Sister Clegg... Time is a ticking!
Austy and Amister..I am so glad you will be at the fish! Will you take good care of it for me? And take good care of Daddio as well!
Brenny ...have so much fun in California! Be SAFE! BPA has been good to you!! Can you believe I got to see you last year in Indiana?

This week was so great!  A growing one..but that is what makes the mission the best!
Our gators are doing so well! I love them all so much! They are so humble and really down to earth...my kind of people! :) They have taught me so much...I am very grateful to be here!!

Update on our peeps...

The Grigsby family is all doing great! :) We literally woke them up on Sunday..did the kids hair and fed them breakfast, and made sure they came!! Kayce had texted us and said that she didn't get any sleep the night before so she wasn't going to go...and well...Sister Tua and I didn't really like that answer... SO...we "encouraged" them a little... and they all made it to Church on Sunday! Titiana bore her testimony and it was so sweet! She made me go up with her...  I all of a sudden felt like a little Mom taking my little girl up to bear her testimony! She is wonderful and her testimony touched a lot of peoples hearts! :) They are excited for Saturday and hoping everything will go well! :)

Cherry is doing great! She came to church and loved it! She participated and everything and had some really good questions this week as we taught her the Plan of Salvation. She is very sweet and sincere! I love her! She is an amazing woman! :)

Doug, Zach, Thomas, and Dani are doing awesome ! We are so blessed! We also found two families this week and I am so excited for them! :) I love missionary work...God is so involved this work! God is this work!

Events that happened:

Exchanges- MLC- so fun! We got to play kickball in the afternoon and President was the pitcher! haha I may or may not have kick the ball right at him...good thing he is a good sport and chucked it right back at me! :) It was so much fun and the training were incredible! We have zone conference on Wednesday and so I am excited for that! We lost the phone...and found it by the grace of our loving Heavenly Father!

It was a great week! This week we have Zone Conference and a ward camp out that we are going up for the afternoon to speak at, I have my last Dentist appointment in Lafayette-so that means I get to see the Purdue peeps! :) ...AND the Grigsby's baptism. The kids and Kayce are getting baptized and hopefully the Grandma will be here with in the next few weeks! :)

This week I gained a stronger testimony of changing our nature verses our behavior. Behavior being what we do on the outside...nature being what happens on the inside. It is possible to change what is in the inside of us. It is possible to change our thoughts, behavior, and actions. That is if we go to the source that allows it all to be possible. The Savior. I love Him. I know the power of the atonement is real and our natures can be changed. I have a lot of work to do but, I am thankful it is possible! :)
I love you all! Thank you for everything you do for me and the prayers you are sending! I can feel them! I love them! I am praying for you all as well and I am so excited to talk to you on Sunday! Boy..doesn't really matter how long you have been out... I still get giddy knowing I am going to talk to you all. :)

I love you !
Love,

Sister Clegg :)

Hello FAMILY and Friends!
Ash..you looked like so beautiful in the pictures my Mom sent!!! You are the best and I am so glad that everything went well! I am so happy for you! Everyone else...you looked beautiful as well! :)
Cass Cass --Happy Bday this week! I sure do love you!

This week was wonderful! AS always...I truly  love everyday here!

 1. The work is going really well! We were able to get a lot of people of a baptismal  dates and there was a lot of progression with a lot of our new investigators. Sister Tua and I have really been trying to keep daily contact with our gators and keep them on the "straight and narrow" so we have seen a lot of progression with them and I am thankful for that. It has been blessed week.
     - Grigsby family came to church again! WOO! They are working towards the 9th of May
     - Thomas is finally reading The Book of Mormon-- working towards June 13th
     - Cherry came to church and is working getting baptized on the 23 of May
     - Dani is doing wonderful..she recognizes the spirit so we'll... it is fun to watch. A date soon!
     - Doug is incredible and has had some really hard things happen in his life recently so he is very
open minded and has a willing  heart to do the Lord will... Working towards June 13th
       as well!

So if you could pray for these people that would be great! Kayce (the Mom of the Grigsby family) is down to 2 cigarettes a day right now..and she has to stop this week... so out of anyone PRAY FOR HER! She has a testimony but the cigarettes are a hard one to kick..That poor girl...I love them all so much!

2. This Sunday was so wonderful! Man! It was Stake Conference...and guess what ward came with our to stake conference????? THE WESTFIELD WARD! Oh my..I about died and went to Heaven!!! The people I love so very much from the area I served in!!  Mom..you know how you call me a social butterfly? Well, this was like a social butterfly on steroids! haha!! It was so great to see everyone and give them hugs.. they were all so kind and loving and I think it would be safe to say that I was on cloud 9 to see everyone!

Studies this week - I have learned a lot this week actually! I love studies~  I love finding little gems and learning about the gospel. I have really focused on the power of prayer and letting that power change my daily actions. So many times in our prayers we pray for things but...we do not do a single thing about what we have a desire to have change or happen. So, I have really been focusing on praying for something with the knowledge that I will do something about it. It has been a week full of faith and miracles. I know that prayer is much more powerful then we could even imagine. When we just simply communicate with our Father in Heaven it changes us. It is a form of repentance. I am thankful for the chance to repent every day!

I love you all, I know that God hears our prayers!!
I hope you have a wonderful week! Dad..have fun at the fish! BE the light of the world up there!!! ...and Alex..I am so excited for you...this weekend will be a life changing  weekend..I will email you some suggestions I have!! Your patriarchal blessing is so important!! I love you!

I love you! I love you! I love you!

The Indianapolis Temple is progressing so much!! So beautiful!

April 20, 2015

Hello Family!

I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THIS IS THE WEEK! Ashlynn! I am so excited for you! What a special day that will be! I will be thinking of you all and pray everything goes perfectly! What a wonderful day! I sure do love you Ashlynn! You are an incredible girl and I am so happy for you!
Alex and McCall I hope you get feeling better! I am sorry you got sick!  Brennen you are quite the handsome devil - hope you had a great time at Prom!!

Well, this week was wonderful ... I always get to emailing on Mondays and get so excited and want to tell you everything...but get a little over whelmed on what to actually tell you!

1. I will start with the best family ever! The Grigsby family! They have my whole heart! When I first got here we were just teaching the kids (8, 8, and 11yrs old.) They are all doing great and they all want to get baptized, but this is a family who all needs the gospel!! There are literally like 5 families in this one home..and it has been so fun to watch this transformation happen! As we teach the kids...the grandma will linger in the kitchen...the Uncle will sit in the back room and listen..( I know he can hear every word!) :) :) and the Mom and Grandpa are sitting right beside the kids...well slowly but surely they started to participate this week and they have even said a couple of prayers for the lessons and Heavenly Father is just taking over! We asked this week if the whole family would sit in the lesson and they did! The whole family listened and we taught the about the Book of Mormon. By the time we were done they all had committed to come to church...and guess what??? THEY ALL CAME TO CHURCH!  We had a whole family come and it was just the best thing in the entire world! :) I love them all so much! Those kids have my whole heart and I love the Grandma, Uncle Keery, and Kacey! That home is a MIRACLE! We have literally been over their almost every day!!

2. I got to go to Chrissy's baptism. It was so wonderful! She is like Stephanie was ...prepared from day one and I love her dearly! I am so excited to go to Stephanie and Chrissy's sealings one day..they both know that I need to be the first one told as soon as they get engaged to their boys! :)
-unfortunately Ivy didn't get baptized..I called her every day this week to try and help her stay strong, but she said she just wasn't ready yet... I know she will get baptized  though, her testimony of The Book of Mormon is to strong for her to stay away to long..she promised me that she would choose a date this week and that she would hold to that date. I was pretty bold with her over the phone ..I told her it was because I loved her.
Chrissy's Baptism!!!

Overall this week was so good...OH I can't forget my funny story  for you all...so we woke up at 5:15 to go exercise and we walk out to go get in our car...and NO CAR??? You should have seen the look on our faces!  We thought for sure our car had been stolen and we were in complete shock! We walked back inside said a prayer and then called our vehicle coordinator..(poor guy) haha!! He said he would make some calls and see what was going on...so long story short...our car totally got TOWED! haha (we didn't have a permit- but I guess the sisters never did have a permit for the whole time that Sister Tua has been in crossroads but,.. that night I guess was just not our night! )  SO...75$ later..we got our car and a permit to park!  I guess you could say I have never been so happy to hear our car got towed in my entire life! :)  Silver lining right? Funny times!!

Sister Tua and I when our car was towed and GONE!!!!

Well, I love you all so much! This week President gave a training over a conference call to the whole mission on faith. And boy was it so powerful..he committed us to read and study faith for 15 minutes each day, and to be honest my mission and perspective has changed dramatically. I know that by faith miracles happen! I wish I could tell you half of the miracles that have occurred  this week, I know it is because we focused on simply trusting the Lord. I know that faith is the most essential thing to have in our daily life. If you want to read the Bible dictionary on faith it is excellent!

I love you  all and have a testimony! You are the best!
All my love,
Sister Clegg
