March 30, 2015

Family!
Wow...you sound like you had fun in Cali for spring break!! I am glad to hear that! :) You are the best! Sounds like there were so many funny memories and good times! Those are priceless!! Nothing like those funny family times -- Alex do you remember.."I ain't gettin' no firewood!!" and then when you brought cologne on our hike..!? .
Ya weirdie! :)

Oh my this week was wonderful AGAIN...surprised?!

1. We went on exchanges with the 3rd ward sisters and that was really fun...Sister Marchant and I were on campus and we found a black football player!! I just imagined him getting baptized and thought it would create a title wave! One big dude!

2. We had a miracle with a church tour this week...we were giving a man named Moon a church tour and while we were giving him a tour, the baptism of the Lafayette third ward happened to be going on and by the grace of our loving Heavenly Father!! As soon as we got to the baptism part of the tour..they were getting baptized!  So, he saw a real baptism and he absolutely loved it! :) It was perfect timing and you know it had to have been by God. No one else is that good!!

3. Felicity is ready to be baptized this Saturday!!!! She is getting baptized inbetween the sessions of conference... I LOVE MY LIFE! :) I have never seen a girl with such strong conversion as where...she hears the principle and is converted to it! I love that girl! 2:30..she will make a covenant with the Lord! I am so happy for her! I love that girl sooo much!

4. Sister Goodstein's Dad is progressing really well....he read the BOM for the first time in 20 years this week! We cried like babies we were so happy! WHOO!

Well, I cannot believe it is General Conference again and it is EASTER and Felicity's baptism. This could be the best week of my life!  I remember last year Easter and conference perfectly. Time really does fly when you are having fun!

This week I am going to make my studies focused on the one thing that matter most in life...the Atonement! I love my Savior, I know He died for each and every single one of us!! I know that the enabling power, the cleansing effect, and all aspects of the Atonement can be accessed because He does live! I love the videos that have come out that will always remind me of my mission. We have been able to contact people with the videos and I have had some special lessons and times with each of them. I love this work, I love the Savior. I pray that everyday I don't attribute a lot of pain as to what He suffered in the Garden for, but if I did or do, I know He did it because HE loves me and loves you.
I love you! Have a wonderful Easter! Enjoy conference and be ready to receive some revelation that will direct you close to the Savior! :)

Love you all and Have a great week!

Love,
Sister Clegg

Hello Dear Loved Ones!

Boy I am praying for you.... I love you.
I am excited to hear about how spring break was for you! Will you please send LOTS of pictures...Mom I have not changed. I am still in LOVE with pictures!!

Sad day that Purdue lost..I heard it was by one free throw? I will make sure to go personal contact around the athletic building this week and see what I can do! (We do that anyway..I LOVE THE ATHLETES!)

Well, this week was good...it was pring break on campus so we blitzed Crawfordville and Lebanon and boy.. I forgot what it was like to  be in the "classic towns" of Indiana!  haha!!  I have pretty blessed as to the places I have served in Indiana but, most towns are a little interesting and we talked to some funny people let me tell you!

1. Sister Ivan and I were walking down the street and there was this motorcycle gang outside all just chilling just drinking a beer. They are Heavenly Fathers children too so we went up and started talking to them! Turns out they are all a bunch of ministers who go around town and preach to the people who are in jail and in rough situations. We all talked about what Jesus meant to each of us and it was the one of the best moments ever!!  They all came up and gave us a hug..one of them tried to give me 20 dollars..and I quickly redirected the conversation to saying a prayer all together! Indiana...is full of life and color!! :)

We talked to a lot of grad students this week and got some new investigators! We are excited about that! :) We are excited for all our progressing investigators to come back from Spring break!!

Felicity, Stephanie, Chrissy, Lee, and Ivy are killing it! They are all doing very well! I love them! Erika and Watson are solid as a rock and faithful members of the church! :) I love missionary work...the other day we were driving back from Lebanon and I just had this moment in the car, and realized that I could do this work forever! Can you all come to Indiana for me and I will have best of both worlds!? :) I love sharing the gospel and I love the opportunity I have had to love people. Luckily that doesn't ever end..no matter what you are doing but, the mission is a good place for JUST that...loving.

I love you all! I love this quote..
"Since that upper room experience on the eve of Gethsemane and Golgotha, children of the promise have been under covenant to remember Christ's sacrifice in this newer, higher, more personal way....If remembering is the principal task before us, what might come to our memory when those plain and precious emblems are offered to us?"
Elder Jeffrey R. Hollan

Remember....I have found that half the battle is just remembering what you promised! There

is power in diligence and living a faithful life. I have been studying the war in Heaven a little

this week and as I was reading in the bible dictionary- I read a part where it talked about the

2/3 who did choose to follow God's plan, and as it talked about us...it said that everyone's

devotion to Christ varied. I can just imagine some of raised our hands with the greatest

desire to follow Christ and some of us supposed it would be a okay plan.. But, one thing I

love is the enabling power of the atonement. We can change...maybe some of us were not

all "gun hoe" about following this plan but, we are here and given an opportunity to repent

and change our thoughts and behavior! The atonement is something I love! I know that

change is possible.  I am so thankful because I have a lot to do....I love you! :) Have  a

wonderful week!

Family....and friends....all those I love SO MUCH!

I am excited for all of you to have spring break here soon! That will be fun! CALIFORNIA...I Love it! Alex - hopefully your ankle heals...I am sorry!!  That is no fun...but if anything good came out of the whole situation-- you emailed me asking where my ankle boot was...so, maybe there truly is opposition in all things?!  haha! It was good to hear from you Al!!!

This week was so wonderful!!!  I literally do not know where to start? We had zone meeting this Friday and so we were preparing for it all week and we were asked to train on faith and the work!! So, it was a constant reminder to us that we needed faith as we talked to the students and let me tell your faith PRODUCED miracles!! (the weather was a great factor)... but we were able to teach so much this week and so many people made such good progress!

Stephanie is good to go..her date is April 11 and she knows the church is true -- she is so solid! Chrissy is on that baptism boat as well and so is Felicity! We are so excited for them! They are feeling the spirit and it is the best things ever to meet with them and have them tell us about their experiences they are having with The Book of Mormon and prayer!! I love that Book! It is divine!!!

Okay, so not only was it one of the most miraculous weeks but it was the FUNNIEST of WEEKS too! haha!!

1. We go to the gym at 5:30 am everyday and we have gotten really close to the front desk guy at the gym and we are so close to teaching him! (Been going there for like 5 months now!) But... this week he said if you do a work out I give you, I will let you teach me!! So.....naturally I was SO DOWN with that and did the workout...(p.s. we killed the elders!!) haha!! ... and we now have an appointment with him on Saturday! haha! (oh and lets not mention that I could not even walk for days...#sistermissionaryprobs :)

The funny experiences never stop... I haven't changed at all in the fact that I am the most awkward human alive. Oh dear....
Dad...you will appreciate this one... the other day I was telling the story of when Jake flew me to breakfast to McCall the morning of prom.  As I was explaining about how there was a lot of turbulence ...instead of saying turbulence I said turmoil.....haha... So I told everyone there was a lot of turmoil on the plane and that I threw up.... haha!!! Talk about an awkward moment and a laugh from all at my expense! Enough about you... what about me right?? haha!! Oh dear...you have a struggle bus as a daughter!

Well, this week is spring break here at Purdue... so I think Heavenly Father wanted us to get pumped about teaching a lot and then wants us to see what else there is to do...Maybe grad students will stay?! We will see!
Well, I love you all! I love the gospel and I am so grateful for the miracles God has given us and continues to!
Have a great week and do something again this week to increase your faith! :)

Love,
Sister Clegg

I'll tell this story one day when I get home!

FAMILY!!!
Wow...it is amazing what a little sun can do! It is literally 45 degrees her and the sun is shining!!! I thought I wasn't ever going to ever be able to be comfortable again!!! But....opposition in all things! I don't want to completely shoot myself when I walk outside! haha :) WHOO!

You are all sounding so busy! You got this! :)

This week...boy where do I start?!!

1. We had exchanges this week- I was with Sister Capener - one of the most Christlike missionaries!! Boy, I was so grateful to be with her. I have a lot to learn from that sweet girl! It was fun and we were able to teach a lot that day and find some new investigators!! :) Thankfully I have the opportunity to go with so many sisters on exchanges - I love it!!

2. We had MLC this Friday and I got to see everyone! It was a blast!! It is amazing how fast you all become best friends!! I think it is because you have such sacred experiences together. MLC was great and I am looking forward to being able to have zone meeting this upcoming Friday!!

3. ERIKAS BAPTISM!!! UHHH! Oh my word! Boy was that such a special day! The sun actually decided to make an appearance and it was such a perfect day! :) I was blessed in being able to be the one holding her towel as she got out of the water and boy was that a tender moment!! Her face was glowing with the light of Christ and she could not stop smiling!! It was so wonderful and I am so happy for her!! She has become one of my best friends...perks of serving in the Young Single Adult Ward...these people become your best friends! :) I was so happy for her and I felt the spirit so strong! I was able to speak on the Holy Ghost, so that was neat! Sister Hunt Skyped into the baptism so that was good to have her there! :)
My New Companion - Sister Goodstein

Erika and Sister Clegg

4. We had Stake Conference this weekend and Elder Dunnigan came to speak with us!! On Sunday just before the meeting started He went around and shook peoples hand and he came up to us and at the time Stephanie, our investigator was with us. (Who has a baptismal date for April 4th) So we introduced her to him and sat back down. Then in the middle of his talk a little bit later, he asked Stephanie to come up on the stand. She gave me the most terrified look and I told her it would be okay (at least I was hoping it would be!! ) haha!  And he could not have been more sweet with her. He told her how much light he saw in her and how good she was. He told her about the importance of the message we were sharing was and it was all around just awesome!! She came and sat back down and was terrified but, after she gave me a hug and said how special that was!! Now, if that didn't seal the deal...I don't know what will! haha! IT WAS AWESOME!

Overall it was SUCH  a good week!! We put two more people on a baptismal date and there are so many good things going on here. I have truly fallin in LOVE with Purdue!!  I love these students and sometimes I miss the feeling of a family ward... but overall I have become converted to serving on a campus! haha!!

Well, I want to let you know how much I love the spirit. This week I have had some very special moments with the spirit and my faith has increased so much because of that!! I am thankful that we don't have to do any of life by ourselves, but that we literally can have God's spirit to be with us...what a blessing!!! I know we can be worthy of the spirit and be taught, and directed by it!!

I love you all! So very very much! I hope and pray we can all be just a little more worthy this week of the spirit, because it really is a gift!!

Helloo EVERYONE!!
Man..you all sound terribly busy! Make sure to take good care of yourself! Remember the basics...Prayer, scripture study, and thoughtful church attendance!!

My week was wonderful! Lots of good things...one of those good things include getting a new partner in crime.... Sister Goodstein! She is awesome..from Salt Lake City and was Sister Hunts MTC companion...so that is funny! She goes home in June. She is awesome and a great sister missionary. I love her and we haven't skipped a beat in the work. I love it!!

This week...
1. Well, on Tuesday we scheduled everyone and their dog to meet with us so that way Sister Hunt could say goodbye before transfers. One of those included Joe..who is a recent convert but has been MIA for months! But...we got to see him and he has gone through a really hard time... but he pinky promised me he would start meeting with us again and get things rolling in the right direction!! So I am excited to start working with him. He is a good kid! :)

2.Transfers were great! Sad to say goodbye to my girl..Sister Hunt but I am thankful for the opportunity to grow and love someone else! :) There were 180 missionaries at transfer meeting..haha - President loves to do that. I love it too..because then you get to see everyone! haha!! Some of my best friends! I have been blessed to know so many wonderful people!!

3. So, I don't know if I have talked about Chrissy but...she is awesome! She is one one of the girlfriends....(we are teaching a lot of those!) haha - but we put her on a baptismal date...she has had some awesome spiritual experiences and is doing really well! I love her! THIS IS THE LAND OF MILK AND HONEY!  (the colors are even gold and black...hey...its close?) haha!!

4. ERIKA IS GETTING BAPTIZED THIS SATURDAY! She is doing so well and has such a strong testimony!! I love that girl and she is amazing! What a story she was! :)

Well, this week is looking busy and wonderful! We are being so blessed and I know it is the Lord 100%...I am weak and simple yet God is all knowing and is trusting me. So, I will continue to strive to be worthy of his trust. I have a testimony of prayer! I have really been trying to focus on the principle of prayer this week and I literally have seen miracles. No one would have thought of them the way I do, but because I have been praying more sincerely...I have seen more answers more clearly. I know God is so evident in our lives. In the details and in our daily walk of life. I know He lives. I love Him.

I love you all! I know things are busy and I am sorry for that...please know I am praying for you and working hard out here so you can receive the blessings!!  I am thankful for a family like you! I am thankful for friends like you. How blessed I am! :)
Love,
Sister Clegg
